Maritime access

After the piloting, entering the channel and being taken through the locks, the ship has to sail on the channel for about seven kilometres.

Access time: a variant of the manoeuvre of ships going to the Blainville basin increases the access time to the quay. Indeed, acciording to the size of the ship, this ship has to swing (turn on itself) either in the "darse" of RENAULT Véhicules Industriels (RVI), or, for the biggest ships, in the Hérouville basin.

The average time to reach the quay directly is one hour and a half. With the swinging, it takes two hours in the "darse" of RVI, and two hours and a half in the Hérouville basin.
